Copyright and takedowns

Our policy
People can add photos and text to CleanNile: reports and their photos, event chat messages, profile photos, and content in workspaces. Only post things you made yourself or have permission to use. We remove content that infringes someone's copyright when we are told about it, and we close the accounts of people who do it repeatedly.
Reporting content that infringes your copyright
Send a notice to our designated agent (below) that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough by email).
- The work you believe was copied, for example a link to your original photo.
- Where the material is on CleanNile: a link to the report or event, or a description so we can find it.
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
When we receive a complete notice we remove or disable the material promptly and let the person who posted it know.
Designated agent
Save the NileEmail: info@savethenile.orgIf your content was removed by mistake (counter-notice)
If you believe material you posted was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, send our agent a counter-notice with: your signature; what was removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address, phone number and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where CleanNile may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the person who sent the notice tells us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We suspend the account of anyone who has posted infringing material more than once, in appropriate circumstances. Suspended accounts can't sign in or post.
For anything else about your data, see our privacy policy.
